He replaces Ian Dyer, who has resigned to join Alan Dowson at Woking.

Steve has been the Academy’s head coach for some time and is keen to make the step up to running this important sector of our club.

He has a 30-year association with Hampton as a player, a coach, a supporter and an ambassador for us in the community.

He currently manages our U18 side in the Isthmian Youth League and led them to success last season in the county cup, where they beat Bedfont Sports in the final at Uxbridge FC.

Father-of-four Steve is a familiar figure around Beveree, and there are not many days when he is not at the club, working with the Academy boys or, off duty, attending first-team games.

Steve told the club website: “I’m really excited about the role I’m taking on. I know all the boys well and I already have a good understanding of how the Academy works.

“The continuity will be very helpful to everyone involved. I think people know that I’m Hampton through and through.”
